About
A writer with a history of following his curiosity.
Luis A. Gutierrez’s writing has grown from curiosity—first through nonfiction passion projects, and now through fiction.
Luis A. Gutierrez is a writer whose work has grown out of a longstanding curiosity about ideas, technology and the ways people respond to change.
His first two books began as passion projects. Super Apps grew from his experience founding and running AppPicker, where he spent years immersed in Apple’s emerging mobile app ecosystem and reviewing hundreds of apps. Yoga Styles in America grew from another long-running interest: practicing and exploring different forms of yoga and wanting to help others understand the differences between them.
Writing has also been a recurring part of his professional life, from writing for an investment firm earlier in his career to editing and contributing to research publications focused on data and technology.
He is now expanding into fiction. His science-fiction novel in development is set in a future where humanity and artificial intelligence reach a critical crossroads. The story explores a future transformed by artificial intelligence, where extraordinary technological progress collides with a more enduring truth: humanity’s fundamental nature may be far harder to change—and ultimately more destructive—than the world around it.
